This starter uses a high-torque gear reduction Japanese starter motor with solenoid mounted to a machined adapter that fits the Mini. Ideal for starting high compression engines, they crank until you release the switch, unlike the original starter that "kicks-out". Use with any early pre-Verto flywheel having 107 teeth. Due to this starter having an integral solenoid, some oil coolers will have to be moved to accommodate the increased size.
