The standard DAM7335 Mini drain plug is magnetic and collects ferrous metal fragments from the gears before they can circulate in the oil, which flows unfiltered to the oil pump. This extended-length drain plug is superior for this task in that it puts the magnet at the point where the oil is scavenged, not over in the corner like the stock plug. A traditional Mini accessory.
