Non-standard side-exit push-in distributor cap for Lucas 45D distributors. Used when improved weather protection of the distributor is required, or confined space requires the side exit cap. Ref: DDB194, 54400270, DC94, GDC142, NJD000142EVA.
Modifications will be required: to use this cap, normally the integral screws are removed from the cap, and two small notches are ground into the cap to accept the spring clips from the distributor in order to retain the cap. Alternately, two small holes can be drilled and tapped into the distributor to accept the screws. This cap will be a tight fit on some distributor bodies due to manufacturing variances of the distributors. Check cap for flush seating and adjust as needed.
