The ball on the end of the clutch arm makes metal-to-metal contact with the release bearing plunger. If the hole in the plunger becomes too worn, it can lead to inadequate clutch disengagement. We replace this in every engine we rebuild -- shouldn't you? This one is correct only for pre-Verto installations, for Verto the part is DAM5353E.
