Complete carpet set for your post-1973 Mini Saloon (Sedan). Made in tufted style carpet and comes with a flat tunnel section that will need to be glued to give the best possible fit. This carpet kit will fit any Mini saloon built with the late ‘square’ front tunnel, which was introduced in 1973. The previous tunnel design was much more rounded and included the hump for the Mk1 starter housing, which by 1973 had long been redundant on most models.
The kit contains the front and rear mats, a bulkhead covering piece, front wheel arches, a pair of sill carpets and a cross member covering piece. All necessary clips and fitting instructions are included Glue is not included in this kit and we would recommend you use a couple of cans of spray contact adhesive.
The sill carpets are supplied cut to size and fit with minimal trimming. The cross member carpet is supplied to be fitted right across the car, originally these only covered about 10" of the cross member working in from the sides and this piece can be cut down to size for originality. We have marked positions under the front carpet to fit either early or late gear lever positions as well as steering column position for LHD or RHD cars. It is easiest to get the best possible fit and neatest finish by removing the column from the car entirely before fitting the front mat.
Please note our carpet kit comes as two pieces - originally the later MPi carpets came as one piece but due to limitations on the size of tooling we are unable to produce this way. The two-piece will still fit in the same way as the original one piece set.
