The original Mk1 wiper motor was not self-parking, one had to use the dash switch to shut it off with the wipers down at the bottom, timing it to catch them in the resting position. Early Mk2 cars also used the same square body wiper motor, but these had a self-parking feature that is identified by an external wire from the motor box to the gear cover. This motor is a nice upgrade for a Mk1 car if you need to replace the wiper motor.
Rebuilt wiper motors include a used gear. We recommend that before installing the wiper motor, check the sweep marking of your existing hear, and compare it to the one in the rebuilt motor to make sure they match. Most Mk1 Minis used a 120-degree sweep.
