Good-quality outer CV joint for classic Minis equipped with 7.5" or 8.4" disc brakes. Historically the classic Mini used only two sizes of CV joints; this is the larger one as found on the Cooper S, and later on 12" wheels cars with 8.4" disc brakes. Tech Note: During installation of CV joints and disc brakes in our shop, before beginning the work, we routinely check the fit of the hub bearings (wheel bearings) to the CV joint. Make sure the inner races of the bearings slide readily down the shaft of the CV joint, and make full contact with the flat machined shoulder of the CV joint. The bearing should not require undue force to move it over the full length of the CV joint shaft, and it must contact the shoulder with no gap.
